Aerial View Media
Our
Projects
These are a few examples of work carried out by Aerial View Media. Using a drone creates new ways of working which can add value, reduce cost and increase safety when compared to more traditional ways of working.
Measuring for solar installers
The traditional way for a solar installer to quote on or measure up a job would be to firstly check google maps. Google maps can be a good first place to start and work for some installations. However, the data is often out of date, sometimes there are buildings missing or extensions not showing. Also, there is a question around accuracy and measuring awkward roof shapes and pitches. The next choice is to send a couple of people (usually taking them from another paying job) to use a ladder to measure manually. Obviously there are time, cost and health and safety considerations here.

Using a drone, we can quickly fly and capture a group of images which when processed in our specialist software, create a 3D model of the building or roof space to allow us to give accurate measurements. These can include small details like vents and chimneys, Velux windows or roof lights in warehouses. We also capture height measurements to pass to your scaffold suppliers and it even shows the pitch of the roof.

Our time on site is usually only 15-20 minutes and the images are processed and report sent shortly afterwards - we don't even need the client to be in attendance. Prices start from as little as £165.00, probably much less than the time / cost saved for two of your staff to drive to site at a time when the customer is available.

We offer a free trial (location dependant) for the first project.

Building Inspection
Whether its for insurance purposes, peace of mind or because you suspect you have an issue, a drone can help you visually check all your building including the hard to reach places. We regularly use the drone to check for roof damage, to get a close up of gutters or chimneys and also to check facades on buildings. Obstructions, growths or storm damage can all be better seen using a drone taking hight resolution images and video.

Using a drone is a much more economical and safer way than climbing ladders or hiring cherry pickers. It also means you can assess the damage and submit images to your preferred suppliers for accurate quotes without the need to wait in for several contractors.

We use the drone on residential, commercial and historical buildings like the church below. Some of the detail that can be checked is much more than the traditional methods - you can see the damage to the weathervane

Depending on the size of the building and location, a roof inspection starts from as low as £99 (residential) or £149 (commercial) - feel free to call or email for an official quote for your property. steverushton@live.com or call 07870 656870.
Construction Progress Reporting
At the very least, a keeping regular check on progress of a construction project is great from the air. Video, images and mapping/modelling of the site are easily done on the same visit. Flight plans can be saved and used at regular intervals to achieve a good historical overview of the site and can be used for time lapse to show off your project as it progresses to completion.

Some customer just want a few images, some want video and many like a 3D map/model which can also be used for measuring of stockpiles.
